Easter Sunday
The Sunday before this "diet" begins is knownas "Fat Sunday" — the cheat day dedicated to indulging in the richest, most delicious traditional dishesAmong them are Cozido à Portuguesa (Portuguese stew), Feijoada (a hearty bean stew), and Papas de Sarrabulho (a savory pork dish). Cheeses, sausages, and cured hams, all paired with good wine, are other sins allowed on this day.

Carnival Day
“During Carnival, we taste it all." (Portuguese popular saying) Carnival (from the Latin carne vale) means "farewell to meat." This festive period marks the end of life’s pleasures and the beginning of a 40-day "detox diet," endorsed by the Vatican and embraced by millions worldwide. It is also known as Lent.
